(DES110) David Carson

Born September 8th, 1952

It is said that David Carson,
"changed the public face of graphic design" - Newsweek
"was the art director of the era" - Creative Review London
"was the most important work coming out of America" - American Center for Design
"was the most influential graphic designer of our times" - Surfrider Foundation
"significantly influenced a generation to embrace typography as an expressive medium" - Steven Heller
Carson graduated with "honors and distinction" from San Diego state university, where he received a BFA degree in sociology.

He worked as a sociology teacher and was a former professional suffer and ranked 9th in the world.

He was best known for his innovative magazine design and use of experimental typography.  He was the art director for Ray Gun Magazine.
